How Sinus Clearing Blend Works To Decongest Blocked Sinuses

Sinus Clearing Blend bottle and box

Aromatherapy Clinic’s in house aromatherapist designed our Sinus Clearing Blend as a natural remedy to instantly clear your blocked nose and congested sinuses.

Menthol and eucalyptus essential oils are often used to help unblock a stuffy or congested nose due to their natural properties and soothing effects. Here’s how they work:

Cooling Sensation

Menthol, which is found in peppermint oil, provides a cooling sensation when it comes into contact with the skin or mucous membranes. This cooling sensation can help relieve the irritation and inflammation in the nasal passages, making it easier to breathe.

Anti-Inflammatory Properties

Both menthol and eucalyptus essential oils have anti-inflammatory properties. Inflammation in the nasal passages can lead to congestion and blockage. These oils can help reduce this inflammation, which in turn can relieve nasal congestion.

Mucous Thinning

Eucalyptus oil, in particular, has the ability to thin mucus. When you have a stuffy nose, mucus can become thick and sticky, making it difficult to clear. Eucalyptus oil can help make the mucus thinner and easier to expel.

Opening Airways

The aroma of menthol and eucalyptus can also help open up the airways by relaxing the muscles in the respiratory system. This can lead to improved airflow and easier breathing.

Here are some ways to use our Sinus Clearing Blend of essential oils to unblock a nose:

  • Steam Inhalation: Add a few drops of our Sinus Clearing Blend to a bowl of hot water. Carefully inhale the steam by leaning over the bowl with a towel draped over your head to trap the steam. Inhale deeply for a few minutes to help clear your nasal passages.
  • Aromatherapy: Use an essential oil diffuser to disperse the scent of the essential oil blend into the air in your room. Breathing in the aroma can help relieve congestion.
  • Topical Application: Mix a few drops of the essential oil with a carrier oil (such as coconut or jojoba oil) and apply the mixture to your chest or throat. The oils can be absorbed through the skin and provide relief from congestion.

It’s important to use essential oils with caution, as they can be potent and may cause skin irritation or other adverse reactions in some individuals. If you have underlying medical conditions or are pregnant, it’s important to consult with a healthcare professional before using essential oils for nasal congestion relief. Additionally, make sure to use high-quality, pure essential oils and dilute them as needed to avoid any skin irritation.

Why You Need Goat Milk Soap

In a world filled with an abundance of skincare products, it’s easy to overlook the simple and natural alternatives that can do wonders for our skin. Goat milk soap is one such hidden gem, cherished for centuries for its remarkable benefits. This creamy, luxurious soap offers a wide range of advantages that can transform your skincare routine and leave your skin feeling pampered and rejuvenated. In this blog post, we’ll explore the incredible benefits of using goat milk soap and why it deserves a place in your daily skincare regimen.

What is goat milk soap?

Goat milk soap is a type of soap that is made from goat’s milk, typically in combination with other natural ingredients. It has been used for centuries as a cleansing and skincare product due to its numerous benefits for the skin.

Beneficial properties of goat milk soap:

Gentle Cleansing – One of the primary reasons people choose goat milk soap is its gentle cleansing properties. Unlike many commercial soaps that contain harsh chemicals and detergents, goat milk soap is mild and suitable for all skin types, including sensitive and dry skin. It effectively removes dirt and impurities without stripping your skin of its natural oils, leaving it soft, supple, and well-hydrated.

Moisturizing Powerhouse – Goat milk soap is rich in natural fats and moisturizing agents like glycerin. This high-fat content helps to lock in moisture and keep your skin hydrated throughout the day. Regular use of goat milk soap can help alleviate dryness, itchiness, and flakiness, making it an excellent choice for those with dry or dehydrated skin.

Skin-friendly Nutrients – Goat milk is packed with essential nutrients, including vitamins A, B1, B6, B12, C, D, and E, as well as minerals like zinc and selenium. These nutrients nourish and rejuvenate the skin, promoting a healthy complexion. Vitamin A, in particular, can help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, making goat milk soap a natural anti-aging solution.

Gentle Exfoliation – Goat milk soap contains alpha-hydroxy acids (AHAs) like lactic acid, which gently exfoliate the skin by removing dead skin cells. This natural exfoliation process can improve skin texture, promote cell turnover, and reduce the occurrence of clogged pores, resulting in a clearer and more radiant complexion.

Soothing and Anti-inflammatory – Goat milk soap is well-known for its soothing and calming properties. It can help alleviate skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, and acne. The anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties of goat milk can reduce redness, irritation, and the appearance of blemishes, making it a great choice for those with sensitive or problematic skin.

Hypoallergenic – Goat milk soap is free from harsh chemicals and artificial fragrances so it is less likely to cause skin allergies or irritations. It’s an excellent option for individuals with sensitivities or allergies to the chemicals often found in commercial soaps and skincare products.

Luxurious Lather – Goat milk soap produces a creamy, rich lather that feels luxurious on the skin. This lather makes it easy to apply and distribute the soap evenly, ensuring a thorough and effective cleanse every time you use it.

How often should I use goat milk soap?

The frequency with which you should use goat milk soap depends on your skin type, your individual skincare needs, and personal preferences. Goat milk soap is generally gentle and suitable for daily use for most people. In general, if you’re new to using goat milk soap, start by using it once a day and monitor how your skin responds. If you find that your skin feels dry or tight, you can reduce the frequency of use. Conversely, if your skin feels comfortable and well-hydrated, you can continue with daily use. Remember to follow up with a moisturizer suitable for your skin type to lock in moisture.

Aromatherapy Clinic offers an all natural goat milk soap that is scented with lemon myrtle essential oil, no artificial fragrances or synthetic chemicals. Our customer service team is available to answer any of your questions regarding aromatherapy and our products, contact us.

We have two different hand and nail lotions. One contains a base of citrus essential oils and the other contains lavender essential oil. Our hand and nail lotions also include:

What Causes Snoring and Sleep Apnea?

Snoring and sleep apnea are both sleep-related breathing disorders that can disrupt a person’s sleep and have negative health consequences. They have different causes, but there can be some overlap in contributing factors.

What does apnoea/apnea mean?

The spelling of the word apnea differs between the UK and the US. In Australia, both spellings are used and both are correct. The word apnoea stems from the Greek words a = no and pnea = breathing.

Causes of Snoring

Snoring is the sound produced when airflow is partially obstructed during sleep. It is often caused by the vibration of the soft tissues in the throat, including the uvula and the soft palate. Some common causes of snoring include:

  • Sleeping Position: Sleeping on your back can cause your tongue and soft palate to collapse to the back of your throat, partially blocking the airway.
  • Obesity: Excess weight, especially around the neck, can put pressure on the airway, leading to snoring.
  • Alcohol and Sedatives: These substances relax the muscles in the throat, increasing the likelihood of snoring.
  • Nasal Congestion: Blocked nasal passages due to allergies, colds, or anatomical issues can contribute to snoring.

Causes of Sleep Apnea

Sleep apnea is a more serious condition characterized by repeated interruptions in breathing during sleep. There are two main types of sleep apnea:

  • Obstructive Sleep Apnea (OSA): This is the most common type. It occurs when the muscles in the back of the throat relax excessively during sleep, causing a complete or partial blockage of the airway. Factors contributing to OSA include obesity, a large neck circumference, and genetics.
  • Central Sleep Apnea (CSA): CSA is less common and occurs when the brain fails to transmit the proper signals to the muscles responsible for controlling breathing. It is often associated with certain medical conditions like heart failure and stroke.

In both snoring and sleep apnea, lifestyle factors can play a significant role in their development and severity. Lifestyle changes, such as losing weight, avoiding alcohol and sedatives before bedtime, and changing sleep positions, can help reduce the severity of these conditions.

If you suspect that you or someone you know may have sleep apnea, it is essential to seek medical evaluation and treatment, as untreated sleep apnea can lead to serious health problems, including cardiovascular issues and reduced sleep quality.

Aromatherapy Clinic’s aromatherapist, John, has always been a very loud snorer. He has developed the Anti Snoring Blend to help reduce or, in some cases, eliminate snoring and sleep apnea. The Anti Snoring Blend is a mixture of only the highest quality essential oils and works for about 90-95% of all snorers who have tried it. One bottle of this powerful blend lasts for up to 3 months because you only need to use a few drops every night. We offer a 100% money back guarantee so you can try the Anti Snoring Blend risk-free. If it doesn’t work for you within 30 days, send it back to us and we will even pay the return postage cost.

Is Aromatherapy Safe?

There are many ways to enjoy the benefits of essential oils. However, there are guidelines to follow to safely incorporate essential oils into your life. If you don’t use essential oils properly, you risk harming your health. Follow these rules to ensure you stay safe and healthy when using aromatherapy in your daily life.

Is aromatherapy safe to apply to the skin?

Some essential oils are very mild and are able to be applied to the skin without dilution. Most essential oils require dilution before application to the skin. When in doubt, ask a qualified aromatherapist. For aromatherapy massage on a large area of skin, pure essential oils should always be diluted first in a carrier oil such as jojoba, coconut or olive oil.

Is aromatherapy safe for ingestion or internal use?

No, it is not recommended that you ingest any essential oils. Avoid putting any essential oil inside your nostrils, ears, eyes or open wounds. Essential oils can irritate or burn the sensitive tissues of the body.

Is aromatherapy safe for children?

The safest way for children to enjoy aromatherapy is through diffusion in the air using an oil burner or diffuser, or carefully inhaling directly from the bottle. Some essential oils can cause irritation as children can have sensitive or delicate skin. If applying to children’s skin, dilute essential oil in any cold pressed carrier oil before application.

Is aromatherapy safe for pregnant women?

Some essential oils should not be used around pregnant women as there is a small risk they may be harmful and cause complications in the pregnancy or to an unborn child. There are certain essential oils that can cause uterine contractions which may induce labour before the baby is ready to be born.

Is aromatherapy safe for animals?

Animals have a very sensitive sense of smell so you must be careful about which essential oils you diffuse in the air of your home or office. There are many essential oils that should not be used around pets as they can be irritating or toxic to their airways. Also be aware of applying essential oils to areas of your skin that may come into contact with your pets.

The History of Essential Oils

Where did aromatherapy begin?

Throughout history there has been evidence of humans trading and using essential oils, not only for their aroma but also for their health benefits and healing properties. The knowledge of distillation techniques to extract essential oils from plants has been passed from ancient Egypt, the Middle East and ancient Greece, through to the middle ages. These civilisations used essential oils in religious ceremonies, for cosmetic purposes and to protect against illnesses such as the black plague.

What modern science tells us today

All around the world scientific studies have investigated the purported properties of different essential oils. With the increase in antimicrobial resistance, researchers have been looking for solutions to treat diseases that are becoming resistant to antibiotics, antifungals and also pesticides. There are many scientific studies testing how effective essential oils are against viruses, bacteria and fungi and other studies that aim to test the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties of essential oils.

Tips to incorporate Aromatherapy into your life

Aromatherapy can be incorporated into your daily life in many simple ways.

You can diffuse essential oils in a diffuser or oil burner which will fill a room with the aroma of the oils.

Add a few drops of your favourite essential oils to your shower or bath to boost your mood in the morning or help you wind down after a long day.

Open a bottle of essential oil and inhale the aroma directly from the bottle.

Our in-house aromatherapist, John, has designed all of our therapeutic blends so that they are ready for application. Some essential oils are more gentle and can be applied directly to the skin but most essential oils should be diluted in a carrier oil such as jojoba, olive or coconut oil before application. It is important to test the oil first on a small patch of skin. If you have sensitive skin or a reaction to an essential oil, dilute further in the carrier oil or discontinue use on the skin.

For aromatherapy massage on a large area of skin, ensure the essential oils are diluted in a carrier oil before application.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any aromatherapy questions or enquiries regarding or our all natural range of therapeutic products.

Harness the Properties of Essential Oils

There are different grades of essential oils. Some are cosmetic grade or synthetic which are used for their perfume, are cheaper and do not have any healing properties.

Therapeutic grade essential oils are extracted from plants and are not necessarily used for their aroma or scent but for their healing properties and beneficial effect on the human body. Each essential oil has its own different set of properties. We harness these unique properties in our original Therapeutic Blends, created by our in-house aromatherapist right here at the Aromatherapy Clinic.

Immune Booster bottle and box

The properties of essential oils vary between each oil and can range from calming and warming to analgesic (pain relieving), anti-inflammatory and even immune boosting. Or you can add certain essential oils to your homemade cleaning products for all natural anti-microbial action.

Whether you’re looking to soothe sore muscles, increase joint mobility or boost your immune system Aromatherapy Clinic has the blend for you. Try any of our Therapeutic Blends risk-free with our money-back guarantee.
